June 5-11, 2023 Every June, ACL and its Senior Medicare Patrol Resource Center lead the nation's observance of Medicare Fraud Prevention Week. Established in 2022, this week focuses on raising awareness of the actions everyone can take to prevent Medicare fraud, errors, and abuse. Medicare loses an estimated $60 billion each year due to fraud, errors, and abuse. Every day, issues related to these problems affect people across the country, often costing them time, money, and peace of mind.
For older adults, a fall can trigger a series of events that ultimately result in declining health and  a loss of independence. Fortunately, most falls are preventable. Below are some falls prevention tips, programs, and resources from ACL and our partners:
