This month marks the 50th anniversary of the National Senior Nutrition Program. As part of the month-long celebration, the National Council on Aging (NCOA) is hosting a Twitter chat. This one-hour event will explore evidence-based programming and its impact on the health of older adults.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is seeking comments on a proposed rule that would define the criteria used to determine whether a person likely to become a “public charge,” or primarily dependent on the government for subsistence, for purposes of determining eligibility for a visa and/or legal residency. The proposed rule contains several provisions that directly affect older adults and people with disabilities, so input from ACL’s networks is critical.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will host four listening sessions centered on non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT). All four sessions are open to the public. Through these listening sessions, CMS would like to obtain your input regarding potential practices for improving Medicaid program integrity for NEMT. In support of this goal, there will be one session on each of the following topic areas:
