Webinar on Person-Centered Supports in Older Adult Nutrition Programs and Service Delivery

May 5, 2023

Tuesday, May 23, 2023 | 3:00-4:30 PM ET

Register for the webinar.

Meals on Wheels has been guided by a single goal since the first known U.S. delivery by a small group of Philadelphia citizens in 1954: to support older adults to extend their independence and health as they age. What started as a compassionate idea has grown into one of the largest and most effective programs in America, currently helping 2.8 million older adults annually in virtually every community in the country.

Meals on Wheels programs around the country leverage person-centered principles to ensure that older adult meal program participants receive services that support their ability to live with independence and dignity in their communities of choice. In this webinar, co-sponsored by the National Center on Advancing Person-Centered Practices (NCAPPS) and Meals on Wheels America, panelists from the Meals on Wheels national network will discuss ways they design and adapt their services with older adults and share promising practices to meet the evolving and varied needs.

Presenters:

  • Carter Florence, DrPH, Vice President of Programs, Meals on Wheels America
  • Uche Akobundu, PhD, RDN, Senior Director of Nutrition, Meals on Wheels America
  • Shauna Frost, MBA, Executive Director, Meals on Wheels of Albuquerque

NCAPPS webinars include ASL interpretation, live English captions, and live Spanish interpretation. Please contact Saska Rajcevic if you require additional accommodations. All NCAPPS webinars are recorded, archived, and can be viewed on the NCAPPS Webinars page.

NCAPPS is an initiative from the Administration for Community Living and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services that helps states, tribes, and territories implement person-centered thinking, planning, and practice.
