Several New Research Funding Opportunities from NIDILRR

April 1, 2024

Proposals due May 24, 2024

ACL's National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR) is announcing two new funding opportunities for the Rehabilitation Research and Training Centers (RRTC) Program and one for the Disability and Rehabilitation Research Projects (DRRP) Program

The purpose of the RRTC programs (which are funded through the Disability and Rehabilitation Research Projects and Centers Program) is to achieve the goals and improve the effectiveness of services authorized under the Rehabilitation Act through well-designed research, training, technical assistance, and dissemination activities in important topic areas as specified by NIDILRR. These activities are designed to benefit rehabilitation service providers, individuals with disabilities, family members, and other stakeholders.

The purpose of the DRRP program is to plan and conduct research, demonstration projects, trainings, and related activities (including international activities) to develop methods, procedures, and rehabilitation technology that maximize the full inclusion and integration into society, employment, independent living, family support, and economic and social self-sufficiency of individuals with disabilities.

The RRTC on Improving Employment Outcomes Among People with Serious Mental Illness (HHS-2024-ACL-NIDILRR-RTEM-0084) will conduct research, training, technical assistance, and related activities to contribute to improved employment outcomes of adults with serious mental illness.

The RRTC on Transition to Employment among Youth and Young Adults with Serious Mental Health Conditions (HHS-2024-ACL-NIDILRR-RTEM-0085) will conduct research, training, technical assistance, and related activities to contribute to improved employment outcomes among youth and young adults with serious mental health conditions.

The DRRP on Disability and Pregnancy (HHS-2024-ACL-NIDILRR-DPHF-0086) will conduct research toward maternal health services or interventions to improve pregnancy outcomes among women with long-term disabilities.
