ACL invites you to a webinar in our "Strengthening Advocacy in the Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Settings Rule" series on Thursday, July 13, 2023. Nancy Thaler, senior policy advisor at ACL, will be speaking.
The webinar will review Appendix G – Safeguards in the HCBS Waiver application and the protections this appendix provides for participants. The presentation will cover the part of the waiver application where the state outlines its process for responding to critical incidents, safeguards it has in place around the use of restraints and seclusion, and its protocols for medication management, if applicable. The webinar will also cover how stakeholders can have an impact on the application and why the protections outlined in Appendix G are important.
