This webinar is a consultation with stakeholders to discuss the changes to Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) required by the Older Americans Act Reauthorization Act of 2016.
The Older Americans Act Reauthorization Act of 2016 maintains the dual purposes of SCSEP in promoting community service and work-based training activities for unemployed low-income persons who are 55 and older with poor employment prospects, and reinforces alignment and coordination with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) of 2014.
The changes required by OAA-2016 include aligning the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) performance core indicators with WIOA; adding a new required performance measure of effectiveness in serving customers; and changing the performance goal timeframe to a two-year period. The U.S. Department of Labor must implement the changes to the performance measures by December 31, 2017, and expects to do so through an Interim Final Rule. Stakeholders will have the opportunity to provide input about the changes through this webinar.
