DETAC Webinar on Supporting Employment Goals Through Small Business Ownership

This March, join ACL’s Disability Employment Technical Assistance Center (DETAC) for a webinar as we observe both Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month and Brain Injury Awareness Month. This webinar will cover innovative strategies for removing barriers to further advance competitive, integrated employment and economic outcomes for people with developmental disabilities and brain injuries through small business ownership.

Synergies Work, the largest startup hub in the U.S. for disability-led businesses, will share success stories of individuals with developmental disabilities and brain injuries who have launched and sustained businesses. The National Association of State Head Injury Administrators (NASHIA) will share the latest employment data and trends as well as current service gaps and proposed solutions to maximize employment opportunities. Attendees will also hear the perspectives of Angad Sahgal, an entrepreneur with a developmental disability, and Kymberlee Baker, an entrepreneur with a brain injury, on key elements needed to establish and operate a business.
