Final “1557 Rule” includes important provisions for disabled people and older adults Today, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office for Civil Rights (OCR) published a final rule implementing Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), which prohibits discrimination based on race, color, national origin, sex, age, and disability in covered health programs and activities.

ACL is excited to share a new Disability Innovation Fund (DIF) opportunity that was recently announced by the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) within the U.S. Department of Education. This year’s DIF will fund innovative model demonstration projects for improving strategies or programs to transition youth and/or adults with disabilities to competitive, integrated employment (CIE).
