Rehabilitation Program Specialist - Closes 04/17/2024

As a Rehabilitation Program Specialist within ACL's National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research, you will use your knowledge of and experience with disability research to optimize program results by:

  • Providing consultation to encourage and promote the organization and the advancement of disability research programs.
  • Supporting and promoting NIDILRR-funded programs by applying appropriate knowledge, experience, and methodologies from the fields of behavioral, vocational, or social science; knowledge translation; statistics and data management; or aging with disability.
  • Serving as one of NIDILRR's principal spokespersons and scientific program leaders in one or more of the following areas: behavioral, vocational, or social science; knowledge translation; statistics and data management; or aging with disability.
  • Serving as project officer for assigned portfolio of grants and cooperative agreements, ensuring appropriate administrative and scientific monitoring of these projects.

As a Program Analyst within ACL's Office of Network Advancement, you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:

  • Serving as the organizational expert in reviewing and interpreting new and established directives, instructions, and regulations to determine their impact on complex or new programs.
  • Conducting studies of programs within an assigned major administrative, professional, or scientific organization of the Center/Office to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of organizational structures, to assess organizational and program problems and recommend solutions, and to review and evaluate the potential effectiveness of proposed organizations and programs.
  • Developing solutions and measurements of productivity and effectiveness for use by others, developing detailed briefings and reports of findings and recommendations, and convincing others to implement recommendations.
    Conducting various ad-hoc analyses, preparing reports, and compiling information for management.
  • Briefing senior officials on major issues.
  • Establishing and maintaining measures of effectiveness to objectively gauge the success rate of achieving pre-defined outputs and the impacts of various programs and processes.

Information for People with Disabilities
