ACL Awards Grant for National Center on Elder Abuse

September 25, 2014

The Administration on Aging, a program division within ACL, is pleased to announce that it has awarded a grant in the amount of $765,152 to the University of Southern California (USC) Keck School of Medicine. The grant continues funding of the National Center on Elder Abuse (NCEA).

NCEA provides technical assistance and training to states and community-based organizations on developing effective prevention, intervention, and response efforts to address elder abuse. It also analyzes and interprets the latest research in the field, and disseminates best practices to state, local, and tribal organizations.

The Keck School of Medicine will work in collaboration with the USC School of Gerontology to support elders, their families, and their caregivers. The grant will allow USC to explore new collaborations and to maintain existing partnerships with national and regional organizations to stimulate education, research, and policy changes on behalf of vulnerable older adults.
