USAging’s Center of Excellence to Align Health and Social Care (COE) is now accepting applications for grants to support innovation and infrastructure costs for up to 20 community care hubs (CCHs).

The purpose of the Disability and Rehabilitation Research Projects (DRRP) program is to plan and conduct research, demonstration projects, trainings, and related activities, including international activities. These endeavors aim to develop methods, procedures, and rehabilitation technology that maximize the full inclusion and integration into society, employment, independent living, family support, and economic and social self-sufficiency of individuals with disabilities.

Each year, ACL brings partners and interested parties together to discuss important issues around TBI services, supports, and systems and to learn from other partners, brain injury survivors, family members, support networks, and state and federal representatives.

The Back-to-Basics series coincides with the implementation of the updated OAA regulations, which are designed to advance the policy goals of the OAA, including equity in service delivery, advocacy on behalf of older adults and family caregivers, appropriate accountability of funds, and efficient administration and oversight of these public programs.

On November 1, HHS and HUD solicited applications for the Housing and Services Partnership Accelerator, which will support states in developing or expanding innovative housing-related supports and services for Medicaid-eligible people with disabilities and older adults who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. As the name suggests, the Accelerator will focus on helping states improve collaboration and coordination between organizations and systems that provide services and resources that help people find — and keep — stable housing in the community.

In this webinar, panelists will provide an overview of the wraparound approach, discuss the importance of collaboration between agencies, and highlight person-centered approaches to developing the plan of care.

Today, ACL released a final rule to update regulations for implementing its Older Americans Act (OAA) programs. The first substantial update to most OAA program regulations since 1988, the rule aligns regulations to the current statute, addresses issues that have emerged since the last update and clarifies a number of requirements.

SAGE’s Center of Excellence has partnered with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas to conduct the “State of LGBTQ+ Aging Survey.” The survey seeks to better understand the current experiences, needs, and resiliencies of older people in the U.S. who identify as LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, Two-Spirit, or related identities).

The intent of this funding opportunity is to award a cooperative agreement to a single entity with the experience and capability to facilitate the development and enhancement of collaborative efforts of state falls prevention coalitions. The goal is to reduce falls and/or the risk of falls among older adults, adults with disabilities, and their families and caregivers.
